What happens
Higuruma is thirty six, a member of the Iwate Bar Association, and has been a sorcerer for twelve days. He learned barrier technique by taking apart the domain that arrived with his awakening, worked backwards from there to reinforcing his own body, and in under two weeks has become something close to a grade one.
A guilty verdict carries Confiscation, which takes the defendant's cursed technique. Yuji has no innate technique, so it took his cursed energy instead. He is now fighting a genius whose gavel changes shape and reappears in whichever hand is free, and he is doing it with nothing but his body.
Then Judgeman adds the death penalty, and the gavel becomes the Executioner's Sword, which kills whatever it cuts.
What stops the swing is that Yuji pleaded guilty to something he did not do. The evidence entered in the retrial concerned
