What happens
Megumi is not fighting Dagon's domain, he is drilling a hole in it, on the reasoning that a curse who has opened one today cannot open a second. Nanami calls the Zenins in obliquely enough that Dagon understands too late, and the floor opens.

Ogami's seance was meant to end when the host's cursed energy ran out. Her grandson's soul had none, and Toji's body does not spend any, so nothing ever tells the technique to stop. What is walking around is Toji on pure instinct, with no memory and no reason, until the body gives out.
He takes Playful Cloud off Maki in a straight contest of strength, which she loses to a man with no cursed energy whatsoever, and then starts on Dagon. Eel shikigami, fish, piranhas, giant isopods, a water shield: all of it comes apart at the same speed. Naobito, the only one who recognises him, tells Maki he is a ghost.
Nanami asks Megumi to hold the barrier a little longer, because the plan now is to bet on the ghost.
