Years of swallowing the manifestations of human fear while watching non-sorcerers create more cursed spirits through their negative emotions pushed Geto toward a genocidal ideology: eliminate all non-sorcerers, and cursed spirits cease to exist.
Geto's descent from idealistic student to mass murderer is the series' foundational tragedy. Gojo killed him on December 24th, ending his former best friend's life, only for

Cursed Spirit Manipulation
呪霊操術
Consume a cursed spirit. Own it forever. Deploy it whenever you want. Consume enough spirits and you're not fighting with one technique, you're fighting with an army. That's the core of Cursed Spirit Manipulation, and it scales without any obvious ceiling. Every spirit absorbed adds to the collection, and the collection fights for you. The ultimate form is Maximum: Uzumaki, which blends multiple absorbed spirits into a single concentrated attack. If any of the consumed spirits had innate techniques, Uzumaki extracts those abilities for the user to wield directly. One technique that steals other techniques from an unlimited supply of consumable sources.
