What happens
Kirara HoshiKirara HoshiA jujutsu sorcerer and close associate of Kinji Hakari, wielding Love Rendezvous: a technique that applies five-pointed star geometry to create repulsive force fields between non-a... takes Megumi and Panda for spies from Jujutsu High and will not hear otherwise, so the argument has to be won before it can be had.
Their technique marks people with stars of the Southern Cross and sets attraction and repulsion running between them. Megumi maps it by summoning a swarm of rabbits and watching which parts of the roof they cannot reach: Panda yes, the monitor room door no, Kirara no. Four stars cannot account for that, so there is a fifth one in the middle. He works out that whoever puts out more cursed energy does the pulling, gambles on it with Divine Dog, pins Kirara with it, and then lets go, kneels down and asks them to listen.
On the other side of that door, Yuji has already been thrown through it. Hakari hits like a serrated bat, and Yuji stops defending himself entirely, on the reasoning that a man who will not put his hands up is not a spy. Hakari says he will listen if Yuji is still standing at the end of it, and wants to know why he should stake his life on somebody else's errand. Yuji says he is a cog, which Hakari finds boring.
