He comes back anyway, on Shoko's table, seconds before the dissection. Gojo has him left in the records as dead so the higher ups do not try again, and takes over the training himself.
It is cans, and then it is films. Cursed energy is the electricity and a cursed technique is the appliance, and Yuji has no appliance, which puts most of a sorcerer's toolkit permanently out of reach. What he can learn is to stop leaking energy every time he feels something. So Gojo sits him in front of movies with one of Yaga's cursed dolls beside him, and the doll hits him whenever his output drops.
Across the city, Geto talks Jogo out of a direct attempt on Gojo and towards a special grade cursed object called Prison Realm, then burns a diner down on the way out.
