Innate Technique

Ratio Technique

十劃呪法

Tōkaku Juhō

Description

Everything has a weak point at the seven-to-three ratio. Walls, cursed spirits, human bodies, barriers. Nanami identifies the line, marks the spot, and hits it. His strike at that exact point delivers critical damage that bypasses overall durability, exploiting a structural flaw that exists in everything.

The technique turns Nanami into the most efficient fighter in jujutsu. Where other sorcerers overpower defenses with raw energy, Nanami just finds the crack and taps it. Combined with his Overtime binding vow, increased output after normal working hours: a well-placed Ratio strike can crack things that much stronger sorcerers couldn't break.

Usage in combat

Nanami applied Ratio Technique with the precision and consistency of a tradesman. No wasted energy, no dramatic flourishes, just clean, efficient strikes at the weak point. He mentored Yuji during the Mahito investigation arc, demonstrating the technique against transfigured humans with workmanlike efficiency.

Against Mahito directly, the technique faced a unique challenge: Mahito's soul-reshaping body meant weak points shifted constantly. Nanami adapted by attacking rapidly, exploiting momentary weak points before they could migrate. It worked well enough to keep him competitive against a cursed spirit whose touch was lethal.

During Shibuya, Nanami fought wave after wave of transfigured humans using Ratio Technique, cutting each one down with minimum energy expenditure. His efficiency let him last far longer than most sorcerers could sustain. But efficiency has limits. Accumulated injuries, exhaustion, and Jogo's flames eventually left him vulnerable, and Mahito's final transfiguration of Nanami's body, done in front of Yuji, became one of the series' most devastating moments.
