Innatetechniques

An innate technique is the one ability a sorcerer is born with, and almost nobody gets a second. These are the 37 named in the series, who carries each one, and what it does.

Antigravity System

反重力機構

Anchigurabiti Shisutemu

Most sorcerers have one trick up their sleeve. Kenjaku had several, and this was the one he kept hidden the longest. Antigravity System manipulates gravitational pull in two distinct ways. The lapse application lightens gravity, potentially enough to escape forces as extreme as a collapsing black hole. The reversal cranks gravity up to crushing levels in a small radius for about six seconds. It's a short window, but when everything around you suddenly weighs ten times more, six seconds is an eternity.

Auspicious Beasts Summon

来訪瑞獣

Raihō Zuijū

Ino's technique is unusual because it doesn't produce anything visible to opponents. There are no shikigami, no projectiles, no obvious tells, just a sorcerer who pulls a mask down and suddenly fights on a completely different level. The ability channels four mythological beasts through his own body, each granting a different combat enhancement. The catch: his face must stay hidden. The moment the mask comes off, everything shuts down. This condition makes the technique a fascinating risk-reward trade. Ino gains access to a versatile four-mode combat system, but a single well-timed grab at his face can leave him powerless. It rewards aggressive, front-foot fighting where the opponent never gets close enough to reach the mask.

Black Bird Manipulation

黒鳥操術

Kokuchō Sōjutsu

On the surface, this is one of the least impressive innate techniques for a grade 1 sorcerer. Mei Mei controls crows. They fly around, gather information, and occasionally mob targets in groups. Individually, a crow with cursed energy is about as dangerous as it sounds, not very. But the technique's power scale is deceptive. The crows provide unmatched battlefield awareness across wide areas. Mei Mei sees through their eyes, hears through their ears, and can coordinate their movements with precision that makes them function as a living sensor network. And underneath all that utility, the technique hides its real weapon: Bird Strike, which converts a single disposable crow into what might be the most powerful per-unit attack in jujutsu.

Blazing Courage

焦眉之赳

Shōbi no Kyū

Ogi Zenin's technique wraps a katana blade in intense flames, turning an ordinary sword strike into an incinerating slash. The fire burns hot enough to cause severe burns to sorcerers, and the combination of cutting edge plus fire damage makes each hit especially punishing. The technique suits Ogi's fighting style, he's a trained swordsman who relies on clean, decisive cuts rather than flashy cursed energy attacks.

Boogie Woogie

不義遊戯

Bugi Ugi

Todo's technique has the simplest activation in jujutsu: a clap, and one of the highest tactical ceilings. A single clap swaps the positions of any two things with cursed energy. That's the whole technique. No chanting, no channeling time, no complex conditions. Just hands together, and two targets trade places instantly. The genius is in the applications. Todo can swap himself next to an enemy for a surprise attack. He can swap an ally into a better position mid-fight. He can swap a thrown rock with a person. He can chain swaps so fast that nobody, including his opponent, can track who's where anymore. And he can fake a clap without swapping, forcing opponents to flinch at every hand movement because they can't tell if the next one is real. A technique this simple in the hands of a fighter this smart becomes something approaching omnipotence in a team fight.

Cloning Technique

分身術式

Bunshin Jutsushiki

Creates physical copies of the user that act independently. The duplicates are convincing enough to draw fire and coordinate group tactics, making a single fighter function as a squad. The technique's limits, how many clones, how durable they are, whether they share the original's cursed energy, were never fully explored in the story.

Comedian

超人

Komedian

Takaba's technique breaks jujutsu. If he genuinely finds something funny, reality bends to match. Not metaphorically: his cursed energy literally rewrites what happens. He thinks getting hit is hilarious? The hit doesn't work. He finds the idea of surviving a lethal attack amusing? He survives. The power ceiling is effectively infinite because it's limited only by Takaba's sense of humor rather than his cursed energy. The critical detail is that Takaba has no idea his technique works this way. He thinks he's an unlucky comedian who can't catch a break. His power activates entirely through subconscious emotional responses, if he ever became aware of what he could do and tried to use it deliberately, the self-awareness would probably ruin the genuine emotional reactions that fuel it.

Construction

構築術式

Kōchiku Jutsushiki

One object. One lifetime. That's the deal. Construction lets the user build a single real, permanent, physical object from cursed energy, but creating it burns every drop of cursed energy the user has. The act of making something is the act of dying. Most techniques produce temporary constructs that dissolve when the energy fades. Construction creates something that lasts forever, as real and solid as if it had been forged in a workshop. The permanence comes at the ultimate price.

Contractual Re-Creation

再契象

Saikesshō

Reggie fights with his wallet. Any object he's purchased and kept a receipt for can be materialized instantly at full size, cars, knives, construction equipment, whatever the situation demands. The technique turns commercial transactions into a combat inventory, and Reggie's power scales directly with how much he's spent. The receipts function as compressed blueprints. Summoning something costs far less cursed energy than the object's physical mass would suggest, making it an energy-efficient way to drop heavy objects on people. Reggie can also dismiss summoned items to reclaim receipts for reuse.

Copy

模倣

Kopī

Yuta's technique is essentially a library card for every cursed ability in existence. Through his connection to the special grade spirit Rika, Yuta can duplicate any cursed technique he witnesses. Rika consumes a piece of the target, cursed energy, blood, even a chunk of flesh, and the technique gets recorded permanently. No upper limit on storage. No expiration date. What makes Copy extraordinary isn't just the copying, it's the accumulation. Most sorcerers spend their entire lives mastering one innate technique. Yuta walks into every fight with dozens of options: Cursed Speech, Sky Manipulation, precognitive foresight, divine purification, and even Sukuna's own Cleave. He's a one-man army with a different weapon for every situation.

Cursed Energy Discharge

呪力の放出

Juryoku no Hōshutsu

Ryu Ishigori has the highest recorded cursed energy output in jujutsu history. Not the most complex technique, not the most refined control, just the biggest number. His body channels cursed energy and releases it as raw blasts that hit like artillery shells. No gimmicks, no conditions, no clever workarounds. Point and shoot at maximum power. There's something almost primitive about it compared to the intricate techniques most sorcerers rely on. But when your output eclipses everyone who's ever lived, simple becomes overwhelming.

Cursed Spirit Manipulation

呪霊操術

Jurei Sōjutsu

Consume a cursed spirit. Own it forever. Deploy it whenever you want. Consume enough spirits and you're not fighting with one technique, you're fighting with an army. That's the core of Cursed Spirit Manipulation, and it scales without any obvious ceiling. Every spirit absorbed adds to the collection, and the collection fights for you. The ultimate form is Maximum: Uzumaki, which blends multiple absorbed spirits into a single concentrated attack. If any of the consumed spirits had innate techniques, Uzumaki extracts those abilities for the user to wield directly. One technique that steals other techniques from an unlimited supply of consumable sources.

Disaster Flames

Jogo creates and controls fire and lava. The flames are real, visible to non-sorcerers, capable of spreading, hot enough to incinerate ordinary humans on contact and critically burn experienced sorcerers. He can ignite targets at range without touching them, generate lava from surfaces as miniature volcanic eruptions, and control the temperature from 'merely' scorching to 'nothing survives this.' As a cursed spirit embodying humanity's fear of volcanoes, Jogo's technique is a direct expression of what he is. He doesn't use fire, he IS fire, given shape and malice.

Disaster Plants

Hanami weaponizes nature itself. Plants grow at accelerated rates under her control, roots erupt from the ground to restrain or impale, and existing vegetation can be converted directly into cursed energy, effectively letting Hanami drain power from the environment. In forests or gardens, the technique's power multiplies because the raw material is everywhere. Hanami can also create cursed plant constructs from scratch, wooden shields, root spears, flower-based cursed energy drains. The technique rewards patience and positioning, gradually transforming the battlefield into Hanami's territory.

Disaster Tides

Dagon's power over water and oceanic phenomena. In his evolved form, the technique generates tidal waves, water barriers strong enough to deflect grade 1 attacks, and aquatic shikigami resembling deep-sea creatures. The water itself is cursed, making even contact with it dangerous. As a cursed spirit born from humanity's fear of the ocean, Dagon's technique embodies the helplessness of being caught in open water with things swimming beneath you.

G-Warstaff

G戦杖

Jī Senjō

Charles Bernard's staff gives him precognition. Specifically, while wielding it in combat, he can see a few seconds of his opponent's future actions. Those few seconds turn every exchange into a solved puzzle. Charles knows the attack before it starts, the dodge before the fist moves, the technique before it activates. The foresight has limits: it only shows a short window, and overwhelming speed or unpredictable fighters can close the gap between 'seeing the future' and 'being fast enough to react to it.'

Heart Catch

人心掌握

Hāto Kyatchi

Larue reaches into a target's emotional core and extracts their attachments, love, loyalty, the bonds they fight for. The captured emotions become tangible, leaving the target emotionally hollowed and unfocused. In a world where fighting spirit and emotional conviction directly affect cursed energy output, having your attachments physically removed is functionally a power nerf.

Ice Formation

氷凝呪法

Hikori Juhō

Uraume's complete mastery over ice and cold. The technique generates ice from ambient moisture, freezes targets on contact, creates solid constructs for offense and defense, and drops ambient temperature to lethal levels. At full expression, Uraume can flash-freeze wide areas and create conditions that most sorcerers' cursed energy defenses simply can't counteract. The range of applications spans from precision ice weapons to environmental warfare. Uraume can freeze a single person's hand or turn an entire battlefield into a frozen wasteland, depending on how much output they commit.

Idle Transfiguration

無為転変

Mui Tenpen

Mahito's innate technique. He reshapes a soul by touching it, and because the body follows the shape of the soul, the body changes with it. On himself it is a defence nothing physical can beat; on anyone else it is the cruellest thing in the series.

Immortality

不死

Fushi

Tengen doesn't age. They don't die of natural causes. They simply persist, indefinitely, maintaining the barrier network that hides jujutsu society from the rest of the world. It's less a combat technique and more a cosmic maintenance function: one immortal being sustaining the infrastructure that keeps sorcery secret. The catch is evolution. Every five hundred years, Tengen's body starts changing, drifting away from human form toward something else entirely. Merging with a Star Plasma Vessel resets the clock. Skip the merger and the evolution continues unchecked.

Inverse

あべこべ

Abekobe

The harder you hit Awasaka, the less damage you do. Light taps at full force. Haymakers at zero. The technique literally inverts the power of incoming attacks, creating a paradox where the strongest fighters deal the least damage. The counter is embarrassingly simple once you figure it out: hit gently. A soft tap carries full force against Awasaka. The technique punishes power and rewards restraint, which makes it incredibly effective against opponents who don't understand what's happening, and nearly useless against anyone who does.

Love Rendezvous

星間飛行

Rabu Randebū

Kirara's technique applies star geometry to people. Five targets get assigned to points on a five-pointed star, and the rules of star-drawing govern who can approach whom. Non-adjacent points on the star experience powerful repulsion: the closer you try to get, the harder you're pushed away. Adjacent points can approach freely. The repulsion scales with proximity, creating an invisible force field that gets stronger the more you push against it. Breaking through by force is theoretically possible but practically exhausting. The smart play is figuring out which point you've been assigned and navigating the adjacency rules to find an allowed path. It turns combat into a geometry puzzle. Brute force is the wrong answer.

Marmalade Boy

母霊度暴威

Mamarēdo Bōi

Takeda's shikigami watches an opponent use a cursed technique, records it, and lets Takeda replay it once. One observation, one copy, one use, then the recording is erased and Marmalade Boy needs to observe the technique again. The shikigami is small and fragile, meaning Takeda has to protect it during fights while maneuvering it into position to witness technique activations. The payoff is substantial: a single copied technique used at the right moment can turn a fight, but the setup is risky.

Miracles

奇跡

Kiseki

Shigemo's face has marks on it. Each mark represents stored luck, instances of good fortune accumulated over his life. When Shigemo would otherwise die, a mark disappears and something improbable saves him. A weapon misses by millimeters. A floor collapses at exactly the right time. A lethal blow lands slightly off-target. Shigemo doesn't know how his technique works. He doesn't control it. He just thinks he's lucky. The marks are finite, when they're gone, so is the luck.

Mythical Beast Amber

幻獣琥珀

Genjū Kohaku

Kashimo's technique can only be used once. Ever. One activation in his entire existence. When he triggers it, his body becomes living lightning, not a metaphor, not cursed energy shaped like electricity, but actual electromagnetic energy given human form. Every contact electrocutes. Every movement generates current. His attacks carry voltage that would stop a human heart. Kashimo deliberately fought through the entire Culling Game without using it, saving it for the one opponent he considered worthy. He didn't want to waste his single shot on anyone who wasn't the strongest.

Prayer Song

祈祷の歌

Hakuna Rāna

Miguel's technique works through an inherited rope woven from cursed energy over multiple generations. The accumulated energy gives the rope extraordinary properties. It can bind targets with immense force, neutralize cursed techniques on contact, and withstand attacks that would destroy normal cursed energy constructs. The rope is irreplaceable. Every use draws from the stored energy of Miguel's ancestors, and once depleted, the power is gone forever. There's no recharging, no reweaving, just a finite reservoir of inherited strength.

Puppet Manipulation

傀儡操術

Kairai Sōjutsu

Kokichi Muta's technique let him fight from across the country. Born with a Heavenly Restriction that gave him extraordinary cursed energy range in exchange for a body that couldn't walk, sit up, or survive exposure to natural light, Kokichi controlled mechanical puppets remotely. His range extended across all of Japan. He could operate Mechamaru from hundreds of kilometers away. The technique turned engineering into combat. Kokichi built puppet bodies with modular capabilities, ranged attacks, shields, flight modes, blade configurations, each one a tool for a different problem. His cursed energy fueled the puppets, and the extensions he developed (Ultra Cannon, Ultra Shield, Mode: Albatross, Sword Option, Boost On) expanded Mechamaru's combat vocabulary. Ultimate Mechamaru was his masterwork: a puppet body loaded with seventeen years of stockpiled cursed energy, powerful enough to challenge a special grade.

Ratio Technique

十劃呪法

Tōkaku Juhō

Everything has a weak point at the seven-to-three ratio. Walls, cursed spirits, human bodies, barriers. Nanami identifies the line, marks the spot, and hits it. His strike at that exact point delivers critical damage that bypasses overall durability, exploiting a structural flaw that exists in everything. The technique turns Nanami into the most efficient fighter in jujutsu. Where other sorcerers overpower defenses with raw energy, Nanami just finds the crack and taps it. Combined with his Overtime binding vow, increased output after normal working hours: a well-placed Ratio strike can crack things that much stronger sorcerers couldn't break.

Rot Technique

蝕爛腐術

Shokuran Fujutsu

The Death Painting brothers bleed poison. Their blood causes organic matter to decompose on contact, flesh rots, wounds worsen, and the decay spreads outward from the point of contamination. More blood means more rot. Sustained exposure is fatal. The technique transmits through blood contact, splashing, spraying, or smearing the poisonous blood onto a target initiates the decomposition. Cursed energy provides resistance but not immunity, meaning even sorcerers take progressive damage.

Séance Technique

降霊術

Kōrei Jutsu

Ogami copies the dead. Her technique channels a deceased person's physical body into a living vessel, transforming the vessel's appearance and physical attributes to match the dead person's. It copies the body only, no memories, no cursed technique, no personality. The limitation sounds significant until you consider what happens when the copied body had extraordinary physical properties. A vessel channeling Toji Fushiguro's body gains Toji's Heavenly Restriction: the superhuman physique that traded all cursed energy for perfected physical ability.

Shrine

御廚子

Mizushi

Sukuna's innate technique creates invisible slashing attacks that cut at the molecular level. Two variants: Cleave, which reads the target's durability and cursed energy to calibrate the perfect amount of cutting force, and Dismantle, which delivers a standard-power slash regardless of the target. Cleave is the smart cut. It always hits with exactly enough force to wound effectively, whether the target is a human or a special grade spirit. Dismantle is the brute-force cut, same power every time, used against objects and environments. Sukuna can also generate fire through Shrine, though this application appeared less frequently. At its peak expression, the technique produces a world-cutting Dismantle capable of slicing through the fabric of space itself.

Sky Manipulation

Uro controls the sky as if it were fabric. She folds, stretches, compresses, and twists atmospheric space around her, deflecting attacks by curving their trajectory through warped air, crushing targets by collapsing the space around them, and disorienting opponents by distorting their visual field. The technique essentially treats the atmosphere as a physical surface that Uro can manipulate like cloth. Projectiles curve off course. Distances become unreliable. The space between you and Uro might suddenly be much shorter, or much longer, than it appears.

Solo Forbidden Area

単独禁区

Soro Soro Kinku

Utahime's technique doesn't fight. It multiplies the fighting power of everyone around her. Through a ritual that requires preparation time, Solo Forbidden Area amplifies cursed energy output for the caster and nearby allies by a significant percentage. It's a force multiplier that turns a squad of capable fighters into a squad of considerably more dangerous fighters. The technique has a meaningful weakness: it requires ritual preparation, which means Utahime needs time and safety before the buff activates. In surprise engagements, she can't activate it. But in planned operations with advance warning, her amplification can shift the entire balance of a large-scale battle.

Star Rage

星の怒り

Bonbaie

Yuki adds mass that doesn't exist. Virtual mass, weight without physical substance, applied to her body and her shikigami Garuda. A punch from Yuki can carry the impact of a falling truck despite her normal human frame. Garuda's dive attacks hit like meteors. At maximum output, the virtual mass becomes extreme enough to generate gravitational effects. And at absolute maximum: the point of no return, infinite mass creates a singularity. An actual black hole.

Straw Doll Technique

芻霊呪法

Sūrei Juhō

Nobara's technique works through nails, a hammer, and straw dolls, simple tools with complex applications. The direct combat form, Hairpin, drives cursed-energy-loaded nails into targets that explode on impact. The ranged form, Resonance, transmits damage through a voodoo-like connection using a straw doll effigy containing the target's biological material. The combination makes Nobara dangerous at multiple ranges through completely different attack vectors. Opponents who stay at distance to avoid Hairpin might already be connected to a straw doll. Opponents who close in to prevent Resonance eat nail explosions. The technique is tool-dependent, lose the hammer and nails, and the direct combat drops off significantly. But Nobara's willingness to improvise (including driving nails into her own body) means the tools rarely matter as much as the user's pain tolerance.

Technique Extinguishment

術式の消滅

Jutsushiki no Shōmetsu

Angel erases cursed techniques. Not suppresses, not blocks, permanently destroys. The targeted technique ceases to exist. Seals sustained by cursed energy break. Barriers maintained by techniques collapse. It's deletion, not interference. This makes Angel one of the most strategically valuable beings in jujutsu. Any problem caused by a cursed technique can theoretically be solved by erasing that technique from existence.

Tool Manipulation

付喪操術

Tsukumo Sōjutsu

Momo controls objects telekinetically, primarily her broom. The technique provides flight, remote object control, and the foundation for Wind Scythe's cutting air attacks. Flying on a broom sounds whimsical until you're fighting someone who attacks from above while staying outside your reach. The technique's combat ceiling is limited by Momo's cursed energy output, but its utility, reconnaissance from altitude, aerial mobility, wind attacks from elevation, makes it consistently useful in team operations.
